Wet Rot is caused by the unusually high levels of moisture in the wooden construction of the house. To treat the Wet Rot we first need to identify the sources of dampness and repair all possible problems such as:
Defective Air bricks
It is then important that we improve ventilation of the affected area and the whole house in general.
Proper ventilation and addressing the primary course of dampness will lead to drying of the construction wood and fungus death. It will also prevent further Wet Rot infestation and timber decay.
The wood that has decayed needs to be then removed and replaced with fungicidal fillings. The cut out area size will depend on severity of the Wet Rot decay, but in majority of cases it will be small, much smaller than in case of widespread Dry Rot outbreaks.More details: How To Identify And Treat Dry Rot & Wet Rot - Fixrot.co.ukOn Social:/FixRotUK/FixRot_UK
